Remove Memory Hungry Startup Items

If you computer is running slower than when you first purchased it, chances are, 20 or 30 items are hogging your precious memory (RAM).

Instructions:
For Win 95, Win 98, Win ME, Win XP users.
Click on:
Start > Run (at the bottom) >
Type in
"msconfig" without the quotes.
Click OK.
CLick on the Startup TAB at the very top
(look for the tab)

Uncheck items you don't need. Find out if you need each item by searching on the item name using the sites below. If you are uncomfortable using these search engines, get a technican to help you.

Search on any item name using any of these sites to find out what on earth each item really does. You may even find a few viruses hidden away in your item list too. e.g the nasty blaster virus.
