Spam Prevention Tips by Stephen Dunbar

Reduce spam or junk mail

The Online Business Tutor recommends you Kill Spam and Viruses and Enable a Firewall to protect your business data.

Firstly, Take careful measures to reduce Spam.

Spammers will shortly be on the back foot. Serious junk mail spammers or also known as "bulk mailers", are right now being hunted down by major software companies with fat wallets, and they will slam spammers. 90% of spam comes from a handful of bulk mailers who use servers in the pacific islands.

Bulk mailers could be fined and even given jail terms. Serious Spammers will soon be losing bigtime. Just like the inventors of the latest viruses. The CIA are targeting Virus makers too.

In the meantime, here are two proven techniques to reduce spam.

Technique #1.

  • It may seem obvious, but don't give out your ISP email address to just anyone. Save it for family, best friends and important clients. You get the idea.

Save your ISP email address from volumes of junk mail. I've personally used this technique with great success. I've reduced my spam in-take to my real ISP email address by a hundred fold. This has saved me 15 minutes each day deleting unwanted junk mail. More time to read geniune email from my family.

    Technique #2.
    Get two email addresses.
One email address for work, and one email address for play.

e.g Give out your Internet Service Provider e.g AOL(ISP) email address to clients or important personal contacts only.

Get a free email address for everyone else who is not critical to your daily routine. For a free email address, sign up to yahoo.com, mail.com or hotmail.com.

No need to spend truckloads of time and money on a fancy custom mail server solution to defeat spam.
